Petition for New Resident Parking Program
Lenox Street and Camden Streets are Residential streets. Residents of other neighborhoods in Massachusetts who work in the city come and park their vehicles and then commute the rest of the way to their destination. Additionally, students from surrounding colleges with out-of-state registrations park their vehicles for months at a time. Finally, the City of Boston is planning a redevelopment of Tremont Street, which is orthogonal to Lenox and Camden Streets. The redevelopment may include reduction in size. All of these factors, taken together, will further strain a residential area with narrow streets and very limited parking.
We the residents of Lenox and Camden streets in the City of Boston are petitioning the Boston Transportation Department to implement a Resident Parking Program. We are aware that parking restrictions associated with the program will apply to all vehicles not registered in the neighborhood, including vehicles belonging to family and friends of residents, as well as vehicles owned by residents but not registered in this City of Boston neighborhood.
